No Man Is An Island

“No Man Is An Island” is extracted from an eponymous poem written by John Donne, which describes the close connections between all of humankind.

During Covid-19, nearly everyone experienced the lowliness and emptiness of self-quarantine or lockdown. The distances between oneself and others and fashion became estranged due to less social contact. Therefore, to explore the reconnection of humans with both their self and group identities, physarum as a symbol of community and fashion knitwear as a medium is used to communicate the message.

Sustainable approaches like natural coffee dye and bioplastic are combined with ribbon crochet and textural knitting, to explore the tender intimacy via androgynous style.
