With a Master of Philosophy in Fashion & Textile Design from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, designer Derek Chan is no stranger to pushing boundaries. He was a finalist in the Young Fashion Designer’s Competition (YDC) in 2012, before he created his own label, DEMO bringing elements of philosophy, poetry and science into his distinctive creations, Derek seeks to reimagine traditional masculinity in contemporary and gender-neutral designs. His work has been met with critical acclaim internationally. Derek was named Designer of the Year (Menswear) in 2016 , Collection of the Year by the Hong Kong Fashion Council and 10 Asian Designers to Watch Award in 2019 &2020 by the Fashion Asia.
